Focus: The International Summer University program helps students develop their skills and competence in selected fields of business administration and to serve as a broad-based intercultural forum

Doing Business in Brazil
Focus: Students learn about the social and economic history of Brazil as well as doing business in Brazil today
Designed for: MBA students
Length of Program: Two weeks: May 12 - 23, 2014
Content Hours: 39 classroom hours plus three company visits (total of 45 contact hours) at a Brazilian company, a multinational company, and a financial institution

Housing: FGV will assist; hotels range from USD 300 - 600 per person for three weeks. Home stay: USD 300 for three weeks (meals not included)
China

Doing Business in China (PDF)

Focus:

Students will get an introduction to Chinese economy, history, and culture as well as learn how to conduct business in China.

There will be a program fee/tuition of RMB 19,000 (approx. USD 3,000), which will include: accommodation (two people share one standard room), Mandarin sessions, guest lectures, company visits, cultural events, lunches and some dinners.

Program Name: The Global Manager in Europe (PDF)
Focus: European and global issues. Introduces students to current management issues in Europe through courses, company visits, and conferences with leading European business, political, and cultural figures. Updated program information will be available mid-January from ESSEC.

Program Name: Doing Business in the Enlarged European Union (PDF)
Focus: Provides students with the practical knowledge and skills necessary to do business in the enlarged European Union, especially the nearby countries of Central and Eastern Europe.
Designed for: MBA students
Length of Program: Two weeks: June 30 - July 12, 2014
Content Hours: 80 hours (includes five-day study trip to the Czech Republic)
Credit: One Chicago Booth elective course
Taught by: International experts in the field of transitional economies as well as guest lecturers from the business world
Language of Instruction: English
Fees: EUR 100 nonrefundable application fee paid in advance to go toward housing.  EUR 70 fee is also required for some organized meals and events.

Israel  
Recanati School of Business

Focus: Entrepreneurship and Innovation: The Israeli Model

Credit: One Chicago Booth elective course
Taught by: Recanati School of Business faculty and business leaders
Language of Instruction: English
Fees: USD 2,200 includes accommodation, most meals, transportation (not including airfare), trips to Jerusalem and northern Israel, and company visits.
Housing: Accommodation provided in center of Tel Aviv
Other: Students visit Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, Tefron, Given Imaging; students also participate in cultural visits to Jerusalem.

  • Short-term IBEP Applications for Summer 2015 will be available early January 2015.
